NSF to torch effigies of Chancellor, Pro- Chancellor | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Apr 22: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has threatened to launch stir across the region for not taking action against the people who exploited the wealth and other resources of Jammu University at their will. Addressing a press conference, NSF president demanded from the State Government to place the enquiry committee report in the University Council meet. He said, "more than four months have been passed since the submission of report to the Chancellor and the Pro-Chancellor. But, the State Government didn't initiate action. Besides, the report was also not made public." The University Council meet is slated to be held on tomorrow and we demand that enquiry report be placed on table during the meet, so that guilty officials could be punished, he added. He, however, threatened to launch stir against the Governor and the Chief Minister if the report is not tabled. He said, the activists of NSF will torch the effigy of Governor and the Chief Minister at all the tehsil and district headquarters to lodge their protest. He further said that corrupt officials and teachers of the University must not be spared at any cost. It would be highly unjustified on the part of Government if guilty are spared. Among those who were present in the press-conference included Nitin Chandel, Shafqat Malik, Sukdev Singh and Hari Singh. |
