State Judicial Academy organizes two days workshop

Jammu , Apr 22: Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy organized two days workshop at Academy's complex, at Jammu which was concluded here today. A wide range of topics from Constitutional Vision, procedural and substantial law were taken up for discussion in the workshop. Sub-Judges and Munsiffs from different parts of Jammu province participated in the workshop.
On the first day of workshop B.L. Bhat, Special Judge for CBI cases, Jammu and Harbans Lal, Retired District & Sessions Judge acted as the Resource persons.
On the first day, Constitutional vision, topics from Code of Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act were taken up for discussion. Whereas on the second day, Negotiable Instrument Act, Sentencing, Probation and Bail of an accused were made the matter of discussion between the participants. B.L. Bhat, Special Judge for CBI cases, Jammu alongwith Sanjay Parihar, Addl. District Judge, Jammu acted as Resource persons. State Judicial Academy has now developed a new methodology for conducting the training programmes instead of conventional lecture method. Topics from different subjects are thrown open to discussion among the participants, wherein the participants put forth the queries lurking in their minds on the relevant subject and the practical problems faced by them in the field. The queries and the problems are discussed among the participants and each participant is provided with an opportunity to project his view with regard to that particular query. Resource persons facilitate the discussion and help the participants in reaching at the solution to the relevant queries and problem so faced. Participants get an occasion to share their experiences and thereby sharpen their skills and enrich their knowledge.
Meanwhile, State Judicial Academy in order to achieve overall excellence in Judiciary has taken an innovative initiative to reach out to the Judges posted in remote areas, as well, for imparting training to them, at their respective place of postings. Javed Ahmed Molivi, Retired District Judge, the Faculty Member of the Academy, in this regard, was deputed to District Headquarter Kupwara to impart training to the Judicial Officers of District Kupwara on 21st and 22nd of April, 2012.
