The Indian Air Force would be hosting an International Aerospace Power Seminar, in New Delhi from 04 to 05 Feb 07 which would be attended by Chiefs of 37 Air Forces of the world such as USA, UK, China, Israel and Sri Lanka. The theme of the seminar is “Aerospace power in tomorrow’s world”. During the two day seminar, discussions would take place on topics such as Emerging geopolitical context of Aerospace power, Transformation of Airpower-translating technology into doctrine, strategy, and application, Joint operations-integrating Aerospace operation and surface forces, cooperative Aerospace operations in future etc. Apart from the heads of 37 Air Forces, former services chiefs of the Indian Air Force, Army and Navy are also likely to attend. The countries that have confirmed their participation are (in alphabetical order) Afganistan, Australia, Botswana. Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic. France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhistan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mangolia, Myanmar, Netherland, Nigeria, Oman, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Srilanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The Indian Air Force is one of the oldest independent air forces of the world and is now celebrating the 75th year of distinguished service to the nation both during war and peace. As a part of its platinum jubilee celebrations, IAF has organized this seminar to share experiences, perceptions and knowledge while working for a cooperative vision of enhanced international peace and security. After the two day long seminar in New Delhi visiting Air Force heads of 37 countries would be proceeding to Air Force Station Yelahanka for attending Aero-India 07, the biennial aerospace and defence exposition held at Bangalore, said a PIB (Defence Wing) release.
