| Wadeera to replace Mujahid as director DDKJ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 23: Jammu Doordarshan Kendre is likely to witness a change of guard in the coming days. The incumbent Director, Shabir Mujahid, according to informed sources said Mujahid will be replaced by Qayoom Wadeera who runs the show at Leh presently.
Sources said Shabir Mujahid, whose father was a close aide of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah was recommended for the post of Director Doordarshan , Srinagar. According to them, former Chief Minister and NC patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah accompanied him to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ambika Soni recently. "He is the man from Kashmir. He is the best candidate for Srinagar Kendra", he is believed to have told her.
Pertinent to mention, the Kendre in the summer capital is not functioning properly for want of a permanent head. The in charge who runs the Kendre has evoked severe criticism from producers, artists and even employees of the kendre. She most probably shall be sent to Leh to replace Wadeera.
The shifting of Mujahid to Srinagar is not going to make much difference in Jammu. Another Kashmiri is likely to take over Jammu's Kendra from him.
Sources said Wadeera had been lobbying for the Srinagar chair for long and was sure a prolonged term in the summer capital. However, Dr Farooq's intervention has caused `miscarriage' to his `sweet' dreams.
