Engage local youth on technical posts in hydro electric projects: PDP

Paddar (Kishtwar): Apr 24: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today demanded that extraction work on sapphire and marbles mines located in Paddar area should be started to give employment to the unemployed youth of this belt. Party also demanded that local unemployed youth of Paddar must be imparted technical training to engage them in the Karthai hydro electric project to be constructed in this belt. Addressing an impressive public meeting at Paddar, PDP leaders expressed surprise that this belt was rich in natural resources but proper extraction of the these resources were not going on.
They demanded that extraction work should be started in world famous sapphire mines of Paddar and a refinery must be established in this area to provide jobs to the locals. Expressing their anguish over non availability of facilities to the Yatris who conduct annual pilgrimage of Machail Mata, PDP leaders stressed on the need of taking some concrete steps to provide facilities to the pilgrims of Machail Yatra. They said that subsidized helicopter service should also be started for the Yatra.
PDP leaders also expressed their concern over lack of education facilities in the hilly belt and demanded opening of Degree College at Paddar and ITI. Sartaj Mandi, Thakur Balbir Singh, Asgar Ali, Ghosian Ram, Farooq Ahmed Sadiqui, Suresh Sharma, Sheikh Latif, Baldev Singh, Moham mad Ayub, Aijaz Ahmed Lone, Wasil Dulwal, Khalid Mir, Wasim Ahmed Mir, Jagdish Raj, Manoj Kumar, Daya Devi, Brij Bala, Sharda Devi and others addressed the meeting.
