Burglar arrested, ornaments worth lakhs recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24 : In a major breakt hrough, Jammu Police worked out two burglary cases and recovered stolen ornaments worth lakhs from the possession of the burglars. A police spokesman here today said on October 16 last year, one Balraj Bakshi, resident of Subhash Nagar lodged a written complaint at Police Post Sarwal that some unknown burglars tresspassed into his house and decamped with gold ornaments including a necklace, earrings, two gold rings and cash. 'A case under FIR number 148/11 under section 457, 380 RPC was registered and investigations started,' he added. He said in another case, on January 20, 2012, one Vikram Kumar, resident of Green Enclave, Rehari Colony, lodged a report at the Sarwal Police Post regarding the theft of golden items including one Mangal Sutar, a pair of bangles, a locket and a cash. A case under FIR number 06/12 under section 457, 380 RPC was registered. During the course of investigations, a number of suspects were rounded up by the Police and put to sustained questioning,' the spokesman said and added that on April 19, one Raj Kumar alias Bantu alias Sonu, resident of Neeli Nalla, Jib Thathi, Udhampur confessed the crime. On his disclosure, the stolen items worth lakhs were recovered and they were today handed over to the owners. |
