Rabindra Sangeet leaves audience spellbound | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 24: Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized Rabindra Sangeet evening at K L Saigal Hall which left audience spell bound here this evening. During the musical evening eminent singers Dr Mamta Joshi, Tsewang Dorjey, Vishal Gupta, and Aastha Raina enthralled the audience by presenting Rabindra Sangeet. Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora was chief guest while function was presided over by eminent Ghan dhian activist Prof Ved Kumari Ghai. Speaking on the occasion Minister appreciated the Academy for holding events like Rabindra Sangeet. He said such events helped people appreciate the richness of Indian music. Minister for tourism also released three monographs on life and works of Shiv Nirmohi, Dev Dass and late Durga Dass. These monographs have been penned down by Prakash Premi, late Ashok Jerath and Sita Ram Sapolia. Minister appreciating the effort of Academy in releasing monographs on persons of note, said that such contractive efforts were need of the hour. Earlier Nirmal Vinod, ND Jamwal and Bishan Singh Dardi read papers in appreciation of these monographs. The audience appreciated songs music for which was composed by Sunil Sharma, Joginder Paul, Vikas Nagar, Chetan Joshi, Deepak and Puneet. In the onset additional secretary, Savita Bakshi presented welcome address. Besides other dignitaries, commissioner secretary tourism and culture and secretary Academy, Atal Dulloo was also present on the occasion. The programme proceedings were conducted by Vijay Atri. |
