Workshop on CAMPA scheme held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 24: Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department organized One Day Workshop on "CAMPA, Transfer of Forest Land under FCA and Green India Mission" here at Forest Information, centre Jammu. Three Technical Sessions were held on "Planning and Implementation of CAMPA Scheme", "Accounting Procedures and Monitoring in CAMPA", "Diversion of Forest Land under FCA and related issues" besides salient features of "Green India Mission Scheme". The Technical Sessions were chaired by Vinod Ranjan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu and Kashmir, A. K. Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, Jammu and Kashmir and Hafizullah Sidiqui, IFS, Director Social Forestry. The Power point presentations were made by Lalit Kumar Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forests CAMPA, H. S. Slathia , Chief Conservator of Forests (FCA) , B. K. Singh, Conservator of Forests (Projects) and Ravi Kumar, Conservator of Forests. Shantmanu, Commissioner/Secretary Forests was the Chief guest at the valedictory function. He also took detailed Forest Division wise review of the CAMPA scheme. It was told that during the year 2011-12, against An outlay of Rs 21.41 crore in Jammu region, the Forest Department, SFRI, Social Forestry and Wildlife Department have spent Rs 17.33 Crores. The Commissioner/Secretary while expressing satisfaction over the implementation aspect stressed upon the DFOs and implementing agencies to ensure that CAMPA works are distinctly visible on ground. He said CAMPA scheme is a great opportunity for the Forest Department to Manage, Protect and develop the forests of the state apart from providing employment and livelihood to the locals. |
