NMC seeks release of DA installments | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 25: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather to release pending installment of 7 percent DA due from January last in favour of its employees and pensioners in cash on the forthcoming May Day festival. President of National Mazdoor Conference Subash Shastri in two separate memorandums to Omar Abdullah and Abdul Rahim Rather emphasized that DA installments should be release immediately after the announcement to this effect is made by the central government and any delay in doing so defeats the very purpose for which it is meant. Pleading the cause of working class particularly the daily wagers, Shastri called for their immediate regularization as they have high hopes from the coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah NMC Chief demanded that the policy of regularizing the daily wagers working in Rural Development Department and other departments after completion of 7 years of services should be letter and spirit by the Government. He emphasized for issuing immediate orders for regularization f eligible daily wagers in the state in one go to mitigate their hardships. The wages of the daily rated workers should be paid regularly and their wage arrears too be paid without any delay, he added. Other demands highlighted through memorandums included enhancement of wages of Daily Wagers from Rs 125 to Rs 300, pensionery benefits to Employees of PSU's and regularization the services of motivators working in the working in the watershed project Akhnoor beside release their salaries. |
