APSCC expresses shock over burial of missing Sikh engineer in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 25: Expressing shock and anguish over the burial of a Sikh engineer, who was missing for the past more than two months in Srinagar, All Party Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) said the act was shameful. In a statement here this afternoon, APSCC chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said Executive Engineer Jagdeep Singh went missing under mysterious circumstances on February 18 from his Magarmal Bagh residence. Despite filing a FIR, police failed to trace the missing engineer from the minority community, he alleged. Police has now said the body of the engineer was recovered and later buried, he said. Raina alleged even after the son and other close relatives accredited the body of Singh, who was murdered by some unknown agency, was not handed over to them. "The deceased was buried against the Sikh rituals which is shocking and shameful not only for his family but for the entire humanity," he said. "We demand that the body of Singh be exhumed and immediately airlifted to such place where it can be kept in mortuary so that the actual cause of his death could be established," he said. |
