DGP inspects police constructions, supervises recruitment process of 134 constables

Srinagar, Apr 25: The Director General of Police DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been focussing to strengthen its building infrastructure at all levels across the State to meet latest requirements in view of its increasing man power. Khoda was inspecting the police construction works in the districts of Ramban and Udhampur today during his visit to twin districts. He said that state police has strengthened all its components including the housing sector and major thrust has been given to equip the accommodations with latest facilities. During the previous years a number of building infrastructure has been raised at all district levels in the State which include office buildings barracks, battalion headquarters, police posts and police stations. During his visit he inspected various police construction projects presently under execution in the districts. Building infrastructure completed including District Police Office, CID office, traffic office at Ramban and Police Station building at Kud which were commissioned and handed over to the concerned units for use. Library-cum-Reading Room established by the department at Ramban with the sufficient reading literature was also devoted to the public by the DGP. During the inspection, Khoda reviewed the pace of progress of ongoing construction works at Ramban. These works are executed by Police Construction Division (PCD) which include district telecom office, administrative block for battalion headquarters and barrack block with mess facilities at Parnote. He said that with the completion of these new constructions, office accommodation in these offices would be upgraded. Khoda also addressed officers meeting at Ramban and discussed building plans with the senior police officers and executing agencies on the spot. After thread bare discussions, various building plans were approved and the DGP stressed upon the engineers to keep in mind the requirements of jawans and officers while chalking out the proposals. The ADGP Headquarters, Dr. S. P. Vaid, IGP Jammu Zone, Dilbag Singh and DIG, DKR Range Batote, who were accompanying the DGP, apprised the meeting about the building plans and progress achieved on this front. It was told that efforts have been put in place to ensure quality material in the constructions of these buildings and to complete them within the stipulated time. Later, DGP supervised the recruitment process at District Police Lines, Udhanmpur, which was conducted to recruit eligible youth from 243 un-represented villages of five Naibats, of Udhampur, Roun, Panjari, Mally and Tikri. After putting the aspirants to various field tests by the board members which also include DIG, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Jagjit Singh, SSP, Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, and AIG (Personnel) PHQ, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, 134 youth were selected on the spot. The selected candidates are 24 graduates and 64 having (10+2) qualification. Thirteen SPOs were absorbed under reservation rules adopted by the department.
