early times report
JAMMU, Apr 25: Students and the inhabitants of Dadpath in Kishtwar today blocked the road at Chatroo and held a demonstration, alleging that most of the teachers posted at government high school, Dadpath, were not coming to the school daily. Official sources said when the students reached the school this morning, there was hardly any teacher who could teach them. They then returned homes. As a mark of protest, the students, their families and other villagers then blocked the main road at Chatroo to the movement of vehicular traffic, demanding action against the teachers who had not been coming to the school for varied reasons. They alleged that HSS, Chatroo, HS, Gurinal, and other schools in the area were also faced with shortage of staff and infrastructure. The protesters got pacified and agreed to life their dharna only after tehsildar Shoukat Hayat Matoo and chief education officer, Kishtwar, Fazal Chouhan visited them and assured that action would be taken against the guilty teachers.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner, Kishtwar, Mohammad Malik has directed CEO to detach all the teachers who were posted in his office and other establishments, including the five teachers posted in the district unit of J & K Scouts and Guides vide order No CEO/K/11/ Scouts/8245-52 Dated 15-09-2011.
