Poonch administration wakes up, Black topping on Budha Amarnath Road begins | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Poonch, Apr 25: Finally the civil administration in Poonch district woke up from its slumber and its has started black topping of road connecting to holy shrine of Budha Amarnath. Pertinent to mention here that Early Times had published a new item in this regard on 4th April edition saying that District Administration has utterly failed to implement the decision taken in District Development Board meeting which was held in July 2011, regarding black topping of entire Chandak - Budha Amarnath road on fast track basis. Despite clear direction were passed to the concerned PWD authority for executing black topping work over 9 km long Baba Budha Amarnath Mandi to Chandak road on fast track basis, but till the end of last financial year, the work failed to see the light of the day. However when Early Times brought the issue to the notice of administration about upgradation of Budha Amarnath road prior to coming Amarnath yatra, the effect clearly is visible now as work has been started on war footing. This narrow stretch besides leading to sacred Budha Amarnath temple also touches the historic Ziarat of Sian Ilahi Baksh at Loran area where thousands of devotees visit every year to pay obeisance. Bashir Ahmed, a local resident of Sathra Village, expressed his happiness by saying, "People of Sathra are very happy our start of this black topping work and we demands that whole 9 km stretch should be black topped to give a smooth passage to Tourists who are regularly visiting to Budha Amarnath temple and Ziarat of Ilahai Baksh". Prithpal Singh, an educationist of the area said, "At last govt has understand the importance of this road and all the people are extremely happy over starting of black topping work. |
