Edu Deptt organizes enrolment drive under SSA | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Apr 26: Aiming to increase the enrolment in the government schools, Education Department organized a student's rally in the Kathua town today. State coordinators Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan Jammu Kulbir Singh Anil Jain, A. K Pandita and J. K Pandita, Tehsildar, Kathua Jatinder Mishra, DEPO, Kathua Narinder Sambyal and ZEO, Kathua Chander Kala flagged off the rally from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kathua. The teachers of various Government schools were present on the occasion. About 1250 students from 30 government schools participated in the enrolment rally. The students were holding placards on which slogans about the need and importance of education were written. They were also loudly raising the slogans like Shiksha hai anmol rattan, padhne ka sab karo jatan. The rally passed through Mukharjee Chowk, Shaheedi Chowk and reached the Janana Park near Ambedhkar Bridge where main function was held. Speaking on the occasion state coordinator SSA, Jammu Kulbir Singh said that rally was an attempt to increase the enrolment of government schools and to publicize the achievements of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan. He appealed the people to admit their children in the government schools .He said that government schools are playing pivotal role to increase the literacy rate in the state. He highlighted various features/ facilities of government schools like mid day meal, free books, free uniforms and free schools bags for SC/ST students. He said that department is planning to introduce the Smart Class system in the government schools to enhance the quality of education. While speaking on the occasion DEPO, Kathua Narinder Sambyal highlighted the need and importance of education in present times. |
