Governor lauds creative talent of Rajendar Tiku | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 26: Governor, N. N. Vohra, inaugurated a sculpture and paintings exhibition by Rajendar Tiku, a well known sculptor, at Jammu Kala Kendra, here this evening. Usha Vohra, First Lady, was present on the occasion. The Governor and the First Lady went around the Exhibition and evinced keen interest in the artistic creations. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor complimented Tiku for the high quality of his work. He said that he had been suggesting to Tiku to exhibit his works in Jammu so that the budding artists could draw inspiration and learn techniques from such a versatile sculptor and, besides, the people of Jammu would get an opportunity to see his art creations. He observed that he was happy that Tiku has been able to exhibit his works here and hoped that he would do so in Srinagar also. He wished Tiku high success in his artistic pursuits in the coming years. Tiku, while giving details about the ideas behind his latest art works, thanked the Governor for inaugurating this Exhibition. In all, 20 art creations in bronze and wood, besides some paintings on varied themes, made by Tiku are on display at the Exhibition which will remain open for public viewing from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. upto April,28, 2012. Senior officers, a large number of art lovers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. |
