| Prove your claims, sack corrupt Ministers: BJP tells Omar | | | early times report
JAMMU, Apr 26: BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas has called upon the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to prove his repeated claims of heading a clean government by immediately sacking the ministers in his council who are involved in cases of corruption and land grabbing.
Addressing a press conference at party hqrs. today , he said that while corruption is rampant in the state, cases of land grabbing too are getting unearthed with each passing day. The alleged involvement of ministers and their kith and kins, top bureaucrats and police officials is a matter of serious concern.
Manhas said that the sate Chief Minister have been making high claims of giving corruption free administration but the fact is that with each passing day there have been reports of land grabbing cases by his ministerial colleagues and senior officers in administration and Chief Minister is unable to take action against any of them. He said that the land grabbing has become a trade with the active involvement of high ups under the Omar regime.
Referring to several disclosures made as a result of number of PILs filed in the court, Manhas demanded a detail inquiry of other similar cases of land grabbing in Jammu, Samba, Kathua and other districts. Manhas also informed that BJP has already constituted a national level scams investigation committee whose state coordinator for J&K is BJP State Chief Spokesperson and National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh.
This committee has to its credit the investigation of the country's first ever defence land scam in Srinagar whose documented report was presented to Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony following which the defence authorities had themself referred the case to CBI and also initiated action against several senior defence officials. Other scams including encroachments are also been investigated by this committee.
Manhas said that the ministers in NC-Congress coalition, who are elected representatives of people have no time to concentrate on the work in their respective departments and mitigate the sufferings of people and are instead concentrating on making illegitimate properties through land grabbing and other illegal means. |
