Nearly Rs 2 lakh withdrawn fraudulently from of 3 govt schools in Rajouri | | | Sumit Bhargav RAJOURI, Apr 26: Nearly Rs 2 lakh allotted to three government schools here under centrally sponsored SSA scheme were alleged to have been withdrawn fraudulently by some unknown persons, forging signatures of the authorities concerned and using fake stamps. Official sources said an amount of Rs 1.85 lakh was alleged to have been withdrawn fraudulently from the accounts of primary school, Thudi kas, a school at Peepal Morha and another school at Bela Fatehpur. Fake authority letters were used to withdraw money. These letters carried fake signatures of ZEO, Rajouri, the sources added. Rs 85,000 were withdrawn from the J&K bank account of Thudi Kas, Rs 50,000 from the bank account of Peepal Morha school and Rs 50,000 from the account of Bela Fatehpur school. The accused were yet to be traced by the authorities concerned. When contacted, ZEO, Rajouri, Naresh Kumar said, "We are investigation the matter." The money was withdrawn with the help of fake authority letters carring fake signatures and stamps, he added. The ZEO said the department had decided to register FIRs in this connection with the concerned police stations. CEO, Rajouri, M L Sharma said the department had taken this issue very seriously |
