Kamaal accuses New Delhi of strangling NC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 26: Chief Minister's uncle and National Conference additional general secretary, Dr Mustafa Kamaal today accused New Delhi of conspiring to strangle National Conference. Kamaal while talking to a local news agency said New Delhi operates through its agents in Jammu Kashmir. "These agents want to strangle National Conference. They also want the party to give up its demand for restoration of autonomy", he said. Mustafa launched the Congress, BJP and the PDP saying these parties had given tough moments to the NC. "Sher-e-Kashmir repeatedly said that Indira Gandhi subjected him to psychological torture", he said. Taking a dig at the PDP, Kamaal said the Government of India has admitted Mufti Sayeed was communal and unscrupulous. "The party (PDP) was formed behind closed doors in New Delhi to weaken National Conference. This party is minting money. It is not concerned about welfare of the people", he said. Ruling out any alliance with the PDP, Kamaal said NC was not interested in committing (political) suicide. The firebrand general secretary opposed any change in the Darbaar move practice. "It is an old practice. There are other options for ensuring a positive change," he said. Kamaal said there was no harm in deferring the local body elections in the interest of the tourist season. He also hinted at contesting the local body elections on party basis. |
