| APS celebrates AWES Raising Day | | | JAMMU, Apr 27: Army Public School Jammu Cantt. celebrated the 29th Raising Day of Army Welfare Education Society ( AWES ) in the school premises. Series of activities and competitions were conducted to mark the significance of the day. A special assembly was conducted which commenced with the address by the Principal, Anu Jandial. She threw light on the foundation of AWES, its history and the initiatives taken by it in imparting education up to class XII and thereafter in various disciplines of education in professional colleges run by AWES. The assembly concluded with AWES song inspiring students to achieve excellence in their pursuits. A painting competition was organized for the students of classes IV & V on 'Save Electricity', 'Save Environment' , My Favourite Game, and 'Conservation of Water'. An Inter House Debate Competition was organized for the senior students on 'Are Social Networking Sites Helping Students in their Educational Endeavours?'. Amit Chauhan of class XII was declared the best speaker and Neha Seotra was adjudged second best speaker. Aprajita Aryan of class XII was declared the best interjector. A Skit was also performed by the students highlighting AWES's noble contribution in the spread of education touching the height of excellence.
The Cultural bonanza was followed by Prize Distribution Ceremony. The Principal, Mrs. Anu Jandial awarded certificates and trophies to the winners. She congratulated the students for their extra ordinary performance and appreciated the efforts of the teachers for organizing all the activities successfully. |
