| Opposing 'Darbar Move,' Panthers stage protest outside Raj Bhavan | | | early times report
JAMMU, Apr 27: JKNPP activists led by Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA today staged a dharna outside Governor House Jammu in protest against the government apathy in addressing the much publicized issue of annual Darbar Move. The NPP leaders raised slogans against the government and held a protest demonstration in support of their demand to review and to limit the exercise of Darbar Move.
Addressing the gathering in the occasion, Balwant Singh Mankotia called upon the government to seriously deliberate upon the subject of annual Darbar Move in view of huge superfluous expenditure involved in the process besides great inconvenience caused to the people of both the regions. He said at the outset the government could follow the High Court model whereby both the wings of High Court functioned simultaneously with the Chief Justice involving with the Darbar Move.
He called for a brain storming session involving all political parts to wriggle out of the situation and to evolve a broad consensus on the subject in the interest general public and masses of the state. Who were present in the occasion including Daljit Singh (Vice-President), Anita Thakur (General Secretary), Faqir Nath Ex-MLA (Provincial President), State Secretaries, Provincial Vice-Presidents, Provincial General Secretary and others were present on the occasion. |
