Recruitment scam unearthed in Kishtwar | 15 recruited as ReTs on fake documents now regularised 52 lakhs drawn as salaries by fake appointees | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Apr 27: Kishtwar police have cracked a fake certificate scandal in Drabshala Zone of Kishtwar district today by detecting appointment of 15 ReTs on fake documents. While divulging the details, Dy.SP HQ Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary said that developing specific information received in this regard, Police have detected a major forged certificate scandal. He said that the investigation conducted so far revealed that 15 persons have got recruited as teachers in Government schools on the basis of forged certificates which include fake degree, diploma, marks cards and date of birth certificates "The culprits successfully violated the merit relegating the genuine candidates and are now regularised in School Education department after completing qualifying service as ReT teachers" the Dy SP revealed adding that as per the investigations, the accused persons have drawn over 52 lakhs as salaries from government exchequer so far. "Police have information of use of these fake certificates for recruitments in many other departments as well and the same are under scanner" he divulged. After verification of facts police has formally registered a case FIR No. 98 under sections 420/466/467/468/471 RPC and investigation are started. The persons against whom police have so far established the offences include Basharat Hussain son of Noor Muhammad Keen, Shah Din Keen son of Noor Din Keen, Abdul Kabir son of Muhammad Abdullah Keen, Ismail Gujjar son of Kasum Dhenda, Waheeda Bano daughter of Abdul Lateef, Pervaza Banoo daughter of Ghulam Rasool, Mobina Ara daughter of Nazir Ahmed, Noor Muhammad son of Abdullah Gujjar and Muhammad Aslam son of Noor Din all residents of Bhunzwah Kishtwar. The fake certificate racket has been cracked by a team headed by Dy SP Headquarters Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary assisted by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Mushtaq Ahmed under the supervision of SP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tutti. Investigations in the case have revealed that one Akhter Hussain Keen son of Muhammad Sharief Keen a government teacher posted in Drabshalla in connivance with the other accused hatched a conspiracy with some J&K Board officials and certain other conduits and prepared fake diplomas, degree certificates and marks sheets of a large number of beneficiaries after charging hefty amounts from them. Dy Sp Abrar said that after figuring in the merit list the education authorities are required to get all documents submitted by the selected candidates verified from their respective boards and universities, but said that in this particular case on being contacted by police, Zonal Education Officer Drabshalla informed that the zone office had also sought verifications from Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education. Abrar said that the board authorities have intimated that the certificates of all the employees figuring in police investigations are fake and criminally tempered. An official of zonal education office Drabshalla told police on the condition of anonymity that the accused are financially sound and politically well connected and have escaped departmental action. |
