Two day BJP's Working Committee Meet begins

Jammu, Apr 28: Two day Working Committee Meet of state unit of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) started today at Nagbani amidst nationalist sloganeering and by garlanding the portraits of Bharat Mata and of BJP ideologues.
Prabhari Prof Jagdish Mukhi, alongwith State president Shamsher Singh Manhas, former presidents Daya KrishanKotwal and Ashok Khajuria inaugurated this meet at Nagbani today by lighting the traditional lamp.
Shamsher Singh Manhas emphasized on holding the working committee meets at certain intervals and said that it also gives an opportunity to get the accurate feedback on working indifferent parts of the state. Prof Jagdish Mukhi, who was the chief guest on the occasion declared that Savita Gupta from Jammu will head South Delhi Municipal Corporation as its Mayor. He said that the all time high corruption and sky-rocketing prices may not be of any concern for the Congress and other political parties but for BJP as these are the two important issues. Mukhi said that the Congress has only one motive and that is to grab the power on hollow slogans, mislead the masses. "Congress ka haath, Gareeb ke saath-slogan will not now work and the same is clear from the last assembly elections in few states and just concluded DMC elections, he said.
In the working committee, over 140 delegates from all over the state, district wise are reporting on certain subjects were given by respective district presidents. A draft resolution exclusively on Gilgit-Baltistan presented by Dr Jitendra Singh was also taken up for discussions.
Earlier, the national song Vande Matram was recited which was followed by observance of 2-minute silence in memory of the family members of party leaders and activists, who expired during the last three months.
Among prominent who spoke on the occasion were Dr Jitendra Singh, Suresh Jamwal, Bali Bhagat,Chander Prakash Ganga, Sofi Yousuf, Som Raj Khajuria, Col (Retd) Uttam Singh, Ashok Koul, Satish Sharma, Sat Sharma (C.A), Usha Choudhary, Kavinder Gupta, Chander Mohan Sharma, Rajiv Jasrotia, Yudhvir Sethi, Purnima Sharma, Shilpi Verma, Dr Nirmal Kamal, Ramesh Arora (Adv.), Balbir Ram, Chaman Lal Kanathia, Sakina Bano, Dr Ali Mohd and others.
