| Bakaya asks to project rich Sufi-culture of Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 29: Vyeth a socio-cultural organization, held its first Advisory Board meeting under the Chairmanship of MLC Vijay Bakaya.
In the onset of meeting Prof N.K.Dhar Chairman Executive Vyeth welcomed the dignitaries and presented a brief on the work of the organization.
This was followed by screening of the works of Vyeth including documentaries on P N Kaul Sayil, P N Shad, Ash aayein (a documentary on rag picker) and also the forthcoming documentaries. Chairperson Bakaya in his address appreciated the efforts of Prof Virender Rawal (Founder President) and advised the organization to take immediate steps to begin preparing such documentaries on the artists, poets and writers from Kashmiri community irrespective of religion highlighting the rich Sufi-culture and tradition of Kashmir.
It was also suggested that a programme on Kashmiri Sufism be organized in near future for which artists from Kashmir valley also be invited for participation.
Bakaya however assured the members of Vyeth and Bhoorang of all possible financial help for strengthening the efforts put in by Prof Virender Rawal, founder president of the society. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Sunil Tikoo. The meeting was also attended by Prof B. L. Zutshi, B.L. Saraf, M.L. Saraf, Boopinder Bhatt, Anil Wali and Ashu Bhatt. |
