Vijaypur, Apr 29: Senior congress leader and Ex Minister S Manjit Singh today while addressing a public meeting at Trindian (Ramgarh) said that Congress is a secular party which is working to strengthen the democratic setup of country besides the secular values. While addressing the gathering Ex Minister said Congress is a secular party and is trying to strengthen the democratic setup of country. He appealed the youth to join the party being supervised under the able leadership of UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi, AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Further calling youth as the real power of country senior Congress leader Manjit Singh urged the youth to work for society and youth should play an important role in politics so that system can be changed.
Meanwhile he also condemned the attitude of local MLA and alleged that police and local administration is oppressing the people due to the interference of MLA. On the occasion he also highlighted his achievements as MLA of his constituency and claimed that the major developmental works was carried out in his tenure.
