| Dr Dharminder makes clean sweep in JU sports meet | | Dr Madhulika excels in women's event | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 30: Deputy Registrar, Dr Dharminder Mangotra made a clean sweep winning as four of the total five events decided in the sports meet for teachers and officers of the University of Jammu that concluded at Gymnasium Hall on the campus, here today. With already won singles and doubles events of table tennis, Dr Magotra today clinched badminton titles too. However, in another event of carom, Prof PVKS Baba of Department of Physics and Electronics trounced Dr Brij Biloria of Physical Education to claim the trophy.
Earlier, in badminton singles final, Dr Mangotra outplayed Raj Kumar Bakshi of Physical Education in straight sets of 21-12, 21-19. Later, in doubles title clash, Dr Dharminder pairing with Akash Bhola (AEE) outplayed Dr Rajinder Lal and Sanjeev Jamwal of Physical Education 2-1 (12-21, 21-12, 22-20). Meanwhile, in wom en's event, Dr Madhulika of Department of Bio Technology bagged both badminton and table tennis titles. In badminton singles, Dr Madhulika defeated Dr Nisha of the same department 21-12. And, later she trounced Braj Jamwal of Department of Physical Education in straight sets 11-03, 11-02. The women's carom event, Braj Jamwal defeated Ritu Mahajan of Bio Technology 1-0. Meanwhile, according to the organizers, PTI Campus, Romesh Sharma, the valedictory function of the teachers and officers sports meet will be held on a later date. |
