Police seek records from CEO Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Apr 30:- Four days after the fake certificate scandal came to fore, the police have widened their area of investigation. Records pertaining to appointment of ReTs since 2005 have been sought from Chief Education Officer Kishtwar.
Giving details, the Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary said that a letter has been sent to CEO Kishtwar for the aforementioned details along with copies of qualification certificates.
Chowdhary said the scandal involves appointment of 15 teachers in Drabshala Zone of Kishtwar District on fake certificates. Details of similar appointments have been received from other zones parts of the district are awaited , he said.
He said police have so far established 15 cases where fake certificates have been furnished. "Other cases are being investigated", he said.
Pertinently the concerned ZEO had intimated the CEO Kishtwar about fake certificates and had even recommended departmental action against the officials. However, the ZEO’s observation was not forwarded to the CEO.
The police do not rule out the exchange of money in lieu of blocking the ZEO Drabshala report by the accused through the employees holding various charges in establishment section in office of CEO Kishtwar.
As per the investigations conducted so far, the accused persons have drawn over Rs. 52 lakh amount as salaries from education department.
Meanwhile Kishtwar police conducted raid at several places to arrest the accuse who are still at large.
Iit is worth mentioning here that Kishtwar police on Friday claimed to have unearthed a fake certificate scandal in Drabshala Zone of Kishtwar District by detecting appointment of 15 teachers in government department in which the appointees has submitted fake documents at the time of their appointment as ReT in Education department.
On the bases of its investigation, Kishtwar police registered a case FIR No. 98 under sections 420/466/467/468/471 RPC against kingpin Akthar Hussain Keen son of Muhammad Sharief Keen and others including Basharat Hussain son of Noor Muhammad Keen, Shah Din Keen son of Noor Din Keen, Abdul Kabir son of Muhammad Abdullah Keen, Ismail Gujjar son of Kasum Dhenda, Waheeda Bano daughter of Abdul Lateef, Pervaza Banoo daughter of Ghulam Rasool, Mobina Ara daughter of Nazir Ahmed, Noor Muhammad son of Abdullah Gujjar and Muhammad Aslam son of Noor Din all residents of Bhunzwah Kishtwar.
The accused procured the documents displaying marks of their own choice and submitted these fake and forged documents as genuine at the time of recruitment as ReT teachers in Drabshalla zone.
