| Private parking squeezing commuters, as they charge at will | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 30: The high parking charges at the private spaces in the city is adding further woes to the people, as they have to shell out heavy charges at Malls and Restaurants.
With the high parking charges, the facilities they provide to the customer are not upto any good level. Various parking places have become a tension to the common man.
The tickets that are being provided to the vehicle holders have many miscellaneous conditions and make mockery of the common man. Moreover, they do not give any assurance for the security of the parked vehicles. They clearly mention the term any loss to the vehicle will not be liable to the guards.
So what is the difference between the parking the vehicle on the road side instead in a parking place.
"My clutch plug was stolen when I parked my bike in a parking place at Bawe Wali Mata. When I raised the issue, people running the place expressed their inability", said Ravi Jaitley.
"I just went to Bahu plaza for giving massage to someone, the parking boys issued a ticket to only park my vehicle for 2 minutes" said Raj Martand a local resident.
The private bus operators park their vehicles on the road rather than taking them inside the Bus Stand.
Whereas, the concerned authorities including JDA and traffic police and transport department are not doing anything for contract work of multi- storey Parking at time.
Even the traffic jams busy the road so there is no option left for the people and drivers to park their vehicles in the parking lot with many conditions.However, the State Government has yet to develop a proper Inter State Bus Stand on the modern pattern. |
