| Sikh representatives call on Minister for revenue, relief | | |

Jammu, Apr 30: Various Sikh organizations and refugee of J&K today called on Minister for Revenue and Relief Raman Bhalla at Civil Secretariat Jammu to discuss and resolve the issue and demands of refugees lying pending. During the meeting the delegates demanded to confer the ownership rights to refugees on the EP (Evacuee Properties) allotted houses, and handing over the allotted land possession to refugees which under the illegal occupants lands. The deputationists also demanded implementation of the direction of High Court J&K Division Bench and Supreme Court of India for conformation of ownership rights on EP houses and handing over the land possession. Minister for Revenue Relief & Rehabilitation Bhalla listened to the depotationists and informed that Rs 1775/- Crore has been demanded by the state Govt to issuance compensation to each family of refugees, besides taking up the matter of reservation of seat in Technical Colleges, jobs in Govt Institutions.
The deputation later also called on with Revenue Secretary Special Secretary and handed over the copies of the orders of High Court Division bench and order of Supreme Court of India for property rights in favour of refugees of POK 1947. The deputation comprised S Narbir Singh President Shromoni Youth Akali Dal, S Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Bhai Kanahiya Jee Nishkam Seve Society, S Paramjit Singh President AISSF J&K, S Kulwant Singh Chief Advisor Sikh Noujwan Sabha. |
