Kuldeep Verma "death" during Amarnath land row: Justice Sharma submits report to Govt | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 30: The Justice OP Sharma commission, which looked into the circumstances that had led to the death of Kuldeep Verma during the 2008 Amarnath land row here, was said to have submitted its report to the government. Verma's death had sparked off violent protests in most parts of the Jammu region. The government had later set up Justice O P Sharma commission to enquire into the circumstances that had led to his death. Official sources said though the commission had submitted the report, its contents were not known. The police officers, who were alleged to have shown disrespect to the Verma's body, had later moved high court. Advocate Leela Karan, who had led the two-month-long Amarnath agitation as the head of Sangarsh Samiti, said the court had directed the government not to act on the commission's report till the final disposal of the writ petition filed by police officers. |
