Early Times Report

KATHUA, May 1: The civil society activists have strongly condemned the role of district administration for boosting and encouraging the Brick Kiln owners to plunder the money of innocent people by charging rates higher than fixed by the government. Addressing a press conference here today, civil society activists Varinder Sharma, Hardev Singh Mus afir, Raj Kumar and Vishal Malagar said that as per RTI reply from CAPD department it is found that the actual rates of B class Bricks per thousand is Rs 2625, C- Class Bricks Rs 2325 and tile Rs 2720 but it is shocking that Brick Kiln owners sell the bricks at exorbitant rates ranging from Rs 4200 to Rs 4600 which is more than double than the actual rate fixed by the Government. They further said that LPG agencies are also looting the customers as excess rates are being charged from the actual rate of Rs 408.50 for a cooking gas cylinder for domestic use including home delivery.
