| Special squads constituted under Food Safety Act | | | Early Times Report
DODA, May 1 :In compliance with the direction of High Court where under emphasis has been laid down in the PIL regarding the implementation of Cigarette and other tobacco products Act, 2003 and with the directions of Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Jammu, designated Officer Food Safety District Doda Department of Drug and Food Control Orgn.
J&K constituted the squad comprising of the Drug Inspectors and Food Safety Officers of district Doda with the assistance of Police Officers conducted raids in the offices Markets of Bhaderwah, Bus Stand Bhaderwah, Court Complex and other no smoking zones in tehsil .
During the exercise 40 (persons) violators were compounded with the fine of Rs.2000 u/s 4 of Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products Act, 2003. The squad also educated the people regarding the harmful effects of cigarette smoking. |
