J&K Govt extends date for pensioners' verification | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 1: Jammu and Kashmir government today extended the duration for the verification of pensioners by the Treasury Officers at the time of withdrawing pension. The government had recently issued an order asking pensioners to visit the Treasury Offices (TOs) atleast once in a year. "Due to heavy rush of pensioners including the handicapped and disabled, the government in a fresh order today extended the date of verification till May 31," official sources here said. "The government ordered that every pensioner either drawing pension from the Treasury or bank will present himself before the Treasury Officer once in a year for verification and life certificate," they added. Earlier in view of the request of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank authorities, and short period of completing the job of verification of the pensioners, it has been decided that the Treasury officers, Bank Managers will not release the pension for the month of May until and unless the pensioner presents himself/herself before the Treasury officer for the prescribed verification, sources added. |
