| Bail denied to accused in acid throwing case | | | early times report
Jammu, May 1: CJM Jammu Jatinder Singh Jamwal has rejected the bail application of one Pawan Kumar son of Krishan Chand of Preet Nagar Jammu who was involved in throwing of acid on a woman and against whom P/S Trikuta Nagar registered FIR NO 69/2012 u/s 307/341 RPC.
While rejecting the bail CJM Jammu Jatinder Singh Jamwal after hearing Chief Prosecuting Officer Harmi-nder Singh for the State observed that CPO has seriously resisted the bail application on the ground that investigation is still in progress and in case the accused is admitted to bail, he is likely to hamper the investigation and temper the prosecution evidence. Court further observed that an allegation against the accused in the present case is that he has thrown acid on woman with the intention of killing her. This said woman is still under treatment with considerable burn injuries and doctors attending her have expressed their inability to submit a definite opinion about her condition. Taking that into account coupled with the way and the manner in which occurrence leading to registration of the case has taken place; Court is of the opinion that the accused does not deserve the concession of bail at this stage and dismissed the same.
