| Minister terminates cop from service | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 1: A Special Police Officer (SPO) was terminated from his service by minister for medical and technical education here in Government Medical Coll-ege of Education and Hosp-ital (GMC&H) today.
The termination was orde-red when minister paid surprise visit to Out Patient Department (OPD),Ortho of GMC&H Jammu. Minister himself noticed unmanageable rush of patients in OPD while the SPO on duty identified as Kapil Dev belt no 62 was found absent from his duty, sources added.
Taking cognizance in the matter, the minister concerned ordered
termination of the said absentee. Pertinent to mention here that government has deputed SPOs to health department since the private security has withdrawn its personals over wage hike. The SPOs are deputed in Hospitals and SP Headquarter is their Nodal Officer but the salaries of SPOs on duties in hospitals are withdrawn from health department. |
