| Pathribal case: SC deadline a welcome step, says Baig | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig today said his party welcomes the Apex Court directive in the Pathribal case giving three months deadline to Centre in settling the matter with army with regard to punishment to the accused in the fake encounter.
"We welcome this deadline ……this is something positive but at the same time I think it is a mixed bag …….I don't think it was necessary to get the sanction by CBI for any central Government official while he is discharging the duty,” Baig observed adding "to that extent I respectfully disagree with the SC observation." Such sanction is not required under the circumstances when some people commit crimes , the PDP leader explained while speaking to media on the sidelines of the function organized in connection with May Day. Nevertheless we welcome the time given as deadline for centre to take further steps in that direction. |
