NPP and BJP turns down 'clean chit to Omar' in Haji Yusuf death

Jammu, May 1: Both NPP and BJP have described magistrate inquiry report in the much publicized alleged murder of Haji Mohd Yusuf in custody and giving a clean-chit to the Chief Minister and other accused persons as farce and manipulated.
Reacting to the 'clean chit' issue, Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP J&K State Chief spokesperson & National Executive Member stated, "It is a rule of justice across the world that an investigation does not carry credibility if it is conducted by an agency which is subordinate to or obliged to the individuals against whom the inquiry is being conducted."
"That is why, right from beginning, Bharatiya Janata Party has taken this position that for an investigation into Haji Yousuf case to carry credibility and conviction, it ought to be conducted by an independent agency…..atleast by the CBI, he added.
Dr Singh stated that post-mortem report of Haji Yusuf Shah citing cause of death as cardiovascular arrest is itself inconclusive because scientifically and medically speaking, cardiovascular arrest is a terminal event in any impending. Meanwhile National Panthers Party (NPP) Chief Prof Bhim Singh in a press statement described magistrate inquiry report of Yusuf's death as fraud on rule of law.
According to a statement Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council the finding of a local Magistrate in the alleged murder of Haji Mohd Yusuf in custody including giving a clean-chit to the Chief Minister and other accused persons as farce and manipulated. Singh said that appointment of a Government employee, he may be Additional District Magistrate to hold inquiry into the murder of an innocent citizen who was sent to custody on the order of the Chief Minister on 29th September, 2011 in violation of the law of the land.
Prof Singh said that the State Government has appointed another commission comprising of retired Supreme Court, Justice Bedi who has already shown his intention by keeping out the main culprits from the list of important witnesses.
NPP chief reminded the Chief Minister that the case is pending for hearing in the Supreme Court of India seeking CBI probe as the entire police hierarchy and administration is adamant to protect the real culprits. He added the case shall be heard by the Supreme Court on 29th of July, 2012 and he assured that justice shall be done by the Supreme Court no matter what findings are given by unconstitutional bodies in J&K to please the Chief Minister for the time being.
