Young XI, JKP XI win ties in Sodhi T20 Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 2: Young XI and J&K Police XI won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing Ashok Sodhi Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Parade Ground, here today. In the first match of the day, Young XI defeated Paloura Cricket Club by seven wickets in a low scoring game. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Paloura Club bowled out for 57 runs in 14 overs. Sushil Wahi and Sushil Kumar were main contributors to the score with 10 runs each. From Young XI, Ritesh and Afif took three wickets each. Later, Young XI overhauled the opponent total making 58 runs in 9.1 overs for the loss of three wickets. Ritesh remained unbeaten with 28 runs in his account. Preet bagged two wickets from Paloura Club. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, J&K Police XI trounced Lion XI by a huge margin of 103 runs. Batting first, JKP set a challenging target of 211 runs for the loss of five wickets. Hamid remained top scorer with 71 runs while Akshay and Rajesh Gill contributed 42 runs each. From Lion XI, Shaheed, Kaka, Manjit, Bansi and Rakesh shared one wicket each. In reply, Lion XI bowled out for 107 runs in 17.1 overs. Shaheed made maximum 44 runs while second highest 23 runs came through extras. Sahil was most successful bowler from JKP with four wickets, followed by Rajesh, who took two. |
