| Inter-Panchayat Sports meet of Satwari zone | | Sunita, Tamana excel in athletics | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 2: Sunita Devi of Drab Panchayat bagged 100 meters gold while first place in 200 meters event went to Tamana Kousar of Satwari zone in the girls' inter-Panc hayat sports meet, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) under PYKKA at Government High School, Jammu Cantonment, here today.
Second place in 100 meters track event went to Nisha Saini of Parhladpur while Mehnaz Bano of Satwari Panchayat remained third. Similarly, in 200 meters race, Shweta Devi of Drab Panchayat was second while Kiran Kumari of Hakkal bagged third place.
Meanwhile, in team events, Parhladpur bagged kabaddi title beating Sumb Panchayat by a margin of three points with final score being 23-20. In kho-kho final, Raipur Khandwal defeated Gadigarh by just one point (7-6).
In the finals and prize distribution function, Headmistress of host High School Jammu Cantonment, Nirmal Raina was chief guest who gave away certificates of merit to the winners and runners-up teams and other individuals who excelled in athletics. She was accompanied by Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Saroman Dogra.
Today's matches were officiated by Mohinder Singh, Chanderkanta, Dinesh Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Rani Gupta, Jasbir Kour, Harpreet Kour, Rajesh Kumar, Sanjay Khaj uria and Bunty Jad. |
