Challenger, Kashmir Club enter final of Rajiv T20

JAMMU, May 2: Challenger Cricket Club and Kashmir Cricket Club today qualified for the final, to be played on a later date, in the ongoing Rajiv Gandhi Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here. The final shall be played on a later day. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Challenger defeated Simula XI by three runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, Challenger set a target of 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
Rohit Bhat was top scorer with 58 runs while Parveen Singh ad Rakesh Koul contributed 29 and 15 runs respectively.
From Simula XI, Dhruv Mahajan bagged three wickets, followed by Hardeep Singh, who took two. In reply, Simula XI could not reach the required total and exhausted their quota of 20 overs for 132 runs losing seven wickets. Anshuman and Hardeep played superb innings of 50 and 39 runs respectively while Dhruv Mahajan contributed 20 runs. Parveen Singh and Dilbag Singh were most successful bowlers from Challenger with three wickets each. For his all-round performance, Parveen was declared man of the match.
Meanwhile, in other semifinal, Kashmir Cricket Club defeated KCCC by 13 runs. Batting first, Kashmir Club bowled out for 98 runs in 19.4 overs. Shahbaz was highest scorer with 33 runs while Amitpal Singh added 10 runs. Raman Dutta bagged three wickets while Bandeep Singh took two from KCCC. Later, KCCC could not reach the required target and bowled out for 85 runs in 18.2 overs. Pardeep Bali scored maximum 34 runs. From Kashmir Club, Satish claimed three wickets and Aman took two. Shahbaz was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers, Young Star Cric ket Club, the final of the tournament shall be played on a later date.
