LPG distributors becoming provisional stores

JAMMU, May 2: The cylinder distributors are making extra bulks on the sale of cylinders to the customers by offering some products instead of giving them back the remaining cash these days in Jammu city. It was observed many times the distributor are selling consumer goods such as Hajmula, tea packs and other things instead of selling things related to LPG distribution.
According to a whole seller Rs 2 rupees save from a Tea packet and half rupees safe in Hajmula bottle.
Moreover there are hundreds of cylinders selling per day and they distributors take more profit due to doing these things in their own profit.
Ravi Kumar, who is also customer of Bharat Gas Petroleum said when he brought a cylinder few days back, the distributors instead of giving the remaining money give a bottle of Hajmula, which is cost of Rs 10. "When I asked him to give me money back, the distributor said that he didn't have change to return", Ravi said. Distributor said if not taking bottle give a change. He also informed to last month the distributors also given tea packet which is cost of 25 to 30 rupees. Another Rahul Sharma said that this types of activities going on last few months.
They distributors are continuing to sell these items of provisional store, the CAPD department basic duty of properly checking of cylinders. Consumer Affair Public Distribution (CAPD) Director Parvez Mailk said that he don't know about this things. He said the department officials will verify entire matter and will take action against those involved in it.
Recently Consumer Affairs Minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon had convened a meeting of officers of CAPD Department and representatives of Oil Companies to discuss measures for streamlining the supply of cooking gas in the state. The meeting discussed the complaints with regard the "massive black-marketing" of domestic gas by the agencies in Jammu and Srinagar cities exposing the household consumers to great inconvenience.
