| No taxi for ski resort of Gulmarg for 4 days from tomorrow | | | early times report
Srinagar, May 2: No taxi will ply to world famous ski resort of Gulmarg from tomorrow for three days in protest against the death of a driver, allegedly due to cold after he was refused any room by the hotel owners at Gulmarg. This decision was taken by Kashmir taxi drivers union at an emergency meeting here today, secretary of the union Mohammad Yousuf Khan said. He said a driver died after he was forced to sleep in his vehicle at Gulmarg where the minimum temperature was minus 3 degree. Mr Khan said it has been decided that no taxi will ply from any part of the Kashmir valley to Gulmarg from tomorrow till May 6. He demanded proper compensation for the next of kin of the deceased driver. Gulmarg is attracting hundreds of tourists from different parts of the country these days. |
