So far for this type of Surgery patients were compelled to travel to Chandigarh or Delhi which used to be very uncomfortable and painful journey. Due to traveling the chances of further aggravation of neurological symptoms were also very high. Dr Bias Dev, Orthopedics Surgeon who further specialized in Joint Replacement and Spine Surgeries, previously worked as consultant with Fortis Hospital Mohali and visiting surgeon to some prestigious hospitals in Jalandhar and Amritsar along with his team members Dr Farooq who has more than 10 years of working experience at Bone and Joint Hospital at Barazulla, operated on Ashok on April 27 at Bee Enn General Hospital. Patient was made to move out of bed and started walking by the same evening. Within three days of Surgery the patient is ready to be discharged and is expected to resume his work by another 10 days. Dr Bias Dev stated that in conventional surgery large incision and more bone resection are responsible for late recovery and delayed mobilization of patient. This makes recovery painful and longer. The chances of complications and infections are also very high. Whereas the advantages of Micro Discectomy surgery are, quick recovery owing to very small incision as well as no instability of the architecture of spine, with minimal blood loss, making it possible for patient to resume his routine very quickly. |
