| JMC conducts anti-encroachment drive | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 2: The Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) led by Chief Enforcement Officer conducted an anti-encroachment drive to clear the footpaths / pavements, parts of road sides in the areas of Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar. During the drive the teams seized materials / goods/ articles like Beds, Sanitary Ware Items, Foot Wears, Tables, Baskets, Buckets, Chairs, Racks, Stools, Dust Bins, Stands, Sign Boards etc. which were kept by the shopkeepers by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements in these areas. Besides this, the team demolished two encroachments raised over pavements at Apsra Road, Gandhi Nagar causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movements of vehicular traffic.
The drive has been conducted with the help of Police Force from Gandhi Nagar, Police Station and from District Police Lines, Jammu. The drive was conducted under instructions from Commissioner JMC, K L Khajuria. |
