| BJP Kissan Morcha demands suspension of FTF staffers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 2: Led by BJP Kissan Morcha State President Karan Singh, a deputation comprising of dozens of prominent personalities of Raipur-Domana and adjoining areas called on Joint Director of Forest Protection Force (FPF) in his official chamber at Narwal here today.
The deputation demanded suspension and legal action against a FPF Inspector and guard involved in yesterday's incident wherein they demanded graft from a person carrying woods in a truck with legal documents of transportation at Barnai.
Despite showing all the legal documents, a huge amount as bribe was demanded to allow the truck to go ahead by Inspector Satish Singh Manhas alongwith guard, Parveen Kumar.
It was brought into his notice that the field staff of the department is unnecessarily harassing the people on one pretext or the other. They submitted a written complaint that any person who cuts trees from own land and intent to transport under legal permission by filling Form 25 is being treated as criminal, harassed and given inhuman treatment at the check posts of Forest Protection Force on Jammu-Poonch highway.
Karan Singh told the Joint Director that it has become a routine matter in the area that the field staff deputed by the Forest Protection Force treats the people as criminals and open bribe is being demanded failing which the vehicle carrying woods and the owner, both are detained and booked under fake charges.
The Joint Director gave a patient hearing to the members of deputation and assured of appropriate action against the staff involved in the harassment of people. |
