Two HIV positive in Udhampur | | | early times report Jammu, May 3: Two people, including a labourer, were detected HIV positive in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said. 'During the blood tests conducted in the month of April ending, two people were detected HIV +ve, ' official sources said. They said a pregnant woman, who used to visit the district hospital for routine medical check up, tested positive of Hepatitis B following which the blood samples of her husband, a labourer, were also collected and he was found suffering from the syndrome. 'In another case, a truck driver was referred to the district hospital and during his tests, he was tested positive,' an official added. Meanwhile, Director AIDS Control Society Dr Rakesh Khajuria said that till date 3,200 positive cases of HIV were reported across the state. 'At present above 900 AIDS patients were undergoing the treatment and so far reportedly 230 people had died of this dreaded disease,' he added.' |
