DDC tours Bishnah areas | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 3 : District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma accompanied by District/Sectoral Officers of PWD (R&B), PHE, Rural Development Department, CAPD, Horticulture, Agriculture, Health, Education, Local Bodies, ICDS, Social Welfare Department conducted an extensive tour of block Bishnah and took stock of the developmental activities being carried out by various departments, particularly in border areas viz-a-viz Bishnah, Arnia, Suhapur, Treva, Bumnal, Krail Manhasan, Kirchpur villages and to address the public grievances. The team of officers also listened to the grievances and problems of the people and issued on the spot directions for the redressal of the same. Enroute to Bishnah, DDC inspected the newly constructed examination hall at GHSS Bishnah executed/completed under BADP at an estimated cost of Rs.32.28 lakh. During the inspection, on spot instructions were issued to the executing agency PWD (R&B) to carry out remaining work after ensuring quality use of bricks and various tests during execution. Construction of link road from main road to Krail Manhasan was also inspected, public of the area demanded construction of proper drainage system alongside the road. On spot instruction were issued to the executing agency for construction of drain immediately. Regarding problem faced by the farmers of the area for want of water for irrigation purpose. DDC directed the executive engineer, irrigation to maintain the canal properly for smooth flow of water so that the farmers may not suffer for adequate water supply at the tail end of the canal. During the tour, DDC stressed upon the CHO Jammu to involve farming community towards coverage of fellow/barren lands under horticulture development programme to have better returns. On spot instructions were also issued to the PWD authority for its maintenance. Besides, ACD was directed to take up the tile work of lane at Karil Manhasan immediately which was constructed under MGNREGS. While interacting with the people of the area, DDC stressed upon the public to monitor the works during execution to ensure quality parameters. He also asked the executing agencies to maintain muster roll of the mandays generated, besides, software devised for quality monitoring system be also maintained properly. During the tour, the DDC conveyed his displeasure on account of delay caused in lifting of desliting material alongside the main Ranbir Canal RD 52500 and asked the concerned department to remove mulba immediately so that people may not face any inconveniences. |
