Various employees unions submit memorandum to Div Com
Protestors demand reinstatement of disengaged Home Guards

Jammu, May 3: The leadership and representatives of various organizations belong to state, central, public and private sectors, under the banner of United Forum of State/Central, private/Public Sector Trade Unions observed a dharna in support of Home Guards today in front of Divisional Commissioners Office and submitted a memorandum of demands to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. This protest meeting and dharna was meant. to register employees protests and disapproval of the Government's action against a large number of Home Guard personnel for their struggle.
"The personnel were disengaged/terrninated and were now on agitation against the arbitrariness of the Government, the trade unionists underlined. The representative organizations thereafter staged a protest dharna and also submitted a memorandum, in support of their main demand of 'reinstatement of victimized Home Guard personnel, to the Divisional Commissioner. This protest gathering was addressed a large number of employees leaders namely Mohd Gafoor Dar, Ram Kumar Sharma, N K Dogra, Ashwani Pradhan, Dr Gahanshyam Singh, Balwan Singh and others who exhorted gathering to remain ever prepared for a long drawn battle in case the Govt refuses to see reason and reinstate the victimized personnel. They also complimented the workers and employees for displaying unit, which is the need of the hour.
Ram Kumar Sharma described the state action as arbitrary and illegal. He however asked the protestors not to loose calm and prepare for a long drawn struggle. Mohd Gafoor Dar asked the concerned authorities and the Government to heed to their just demand of reinstating the victimized employees and reminded the Govt not to project itself as a bad works man who instead of doing some useful work quarrels with his tools.
