| Deputation of truck owners calls on SSP | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, May 3: In continuation of protest, truck owners of Kathua who blocked National High Way yesterday against the domination of irrational elements in the truck union office, today met with SSP Kathua and demanded to take strong and legal action against the irrational elements who have monopolized the truck union office Kathua. A deputation comprising ex- secretary Truck Union S Amrik Singh, S Ranjeet Singh, Sham Lal, Rakesh Kumar, Nardev Singh, Baljit Mangy, Mohinder Singh, Varinder Singh, Lakhbir Singh, and Kuldip Kumar also demanded that fresh election of the Truck Union president should be conducted as soon as possible while the tenure of 3 years has been finished since long the last time election was held in 2005 and as per the rule it had to be conducted in 2008 but due to the monopoly of some irrational union it could not held. They apprised the SSP Kathua that truck union has deliberately ignored truck owners and union is hiring trucks from Jammu illegally due to which truck owners were at losers end. |
