Overall situation in J&K good: Khoda | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 3 : Asserting that lull should not lead one into complacency, Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda said the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir is good. 'Present situation is good but this lull should not lead us into complacency,' Khoda said . The DGP added, 'we have to make more efforts and maintain vigil as attempts are being made from across the border to disturb peace at all costs.' 'Our vision, area of dominance and operations still continue to be of utmost degree,' the Police Chief added. On law and order front, he said, 'we have to be alert as there were some misguided elements who want to disrupt peace in the state but we will not allow that to happen.' Meanwhile, on revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from some parts of the state, the DGP refused to comment and said, 'we will continue with our job and our task is to conduct operations and maintain peace and normalcy in the region.' However, on the role of media, Mr Khoda said being the fourth pillar, media has a herculean role and they should be constructive and fair in their reporting. 'Media has a very important role to play in our effort to achieve total peace for the people and the nation. Media should do fair reporting but with a positive approach. It's a bridge between the government and the public,' feels the DGP. |
