'NC or PDP cannot afford have a 'weak' Congress in J&K'
Azad does some political preaching ….!

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has parroted almost everything about which he has been making a mention during his political rallies for some time in different parts of the State. What makes his uttering a bit different is that he has twisted his typical style of self praise and projection in a different context, this time trying to project his party Congress as the only 'safe and better' alternative for masses in future , albeit clinging on to the reality that single party rule era is gone and coalition regimes are there to stay in the J&K.
In what could be seen as his political preaching , he has gone a step further in trying to give some message to both the regional parties NC and PDP that they cannot afford to forge alliance with neither BJP (for its RSS patronage) nor any pro Pakistan party in next elections. The bottom of that 'preaching' he intended to give is that Congress is the 'best' option and therefore it was for masses to make it further strong.
If Congress is weakened in Jammu region in particular, then either of the two regional parties NC or PDP will have to forge alliance with either BJP and if it gets weakened in Kashmir region, then they (NC or PDP) will have explore option of forming Government with any party that may have pro Pak affiliations……this was the undercurrent and fresh political message rather preaching done by the former Chief Minister while he addressed a rally in Devsar Kulgam on Wednesday. However, the plain speaking by Azad was coalition Governments are reality not only in Centre but in States too. However, Congress forms the foundation of the State Government whether it is headed by NC or PDP and neither of the two parties can afford to have a 'weak' Congress in the State.
In his latest series of visits to the State, for the first time it is being seen by observers that Azad has begun the job of the party 'consolidation,' a role party high command must have given to him which he would continue to perform with his trouble shooting political skills. Like previous rallies Azad has tried to draw a comparison between the two coalition regimes in context of development while trying to term PDP-Congress regime as golden one during which, according to him, State saw massive development. In other words, Azad in his typical style has only gone on to suggest that no Congress leader nor any Minister has been able to ensure proper development on the scale and pattern which J&K saw when he was at the helm of affairs. Interestingly, while making this prickly comment, Azad has asked, rather instructed the ruling coalition partner NC to take the criticism positively and refrain from any discrimination on the basis of party or region.
